Dr. Eric Moore
Diane, Eric, and Meredith at Disney MGM in 2006

Everyone knows the feeling of having to go into a doctor's office for the first time and being asked to give personal information about yourself.  Although it's necessary when forming the doctor/patient relationship, it's not fun because it's hard to tell total strangers your life's story.   I've been there, and I understand.  I think it's helpful and only fair that you get to know a little bit more about the people you will be dealing with.  So for those of you who want to know, here is some information about me and my family that I hope will help create a more positive and trusting doctor/patient relationship.
To begin with, my wife, Diane and I are both Huntsville natives.  North Alabama has always been home for us and for the most part, both of our families continue to live in the communities of Huntsville, Madison, and Athens.  We both attended Madison Academy during elementary and high school.  Diane graduated in 1981, and I graduated in 1983.

We were married in 1985 shortly after Diane finished college.   Our daughter Meredith was added to the family in 1996.  During the early years of our marriage, I was employed by my parents.  My family owned Moore TV Rentals (a rent-to-own company) and American Pawn and Jewelry.  During these years I studied business from my father.  He never taught me how to make a million dollars, but what he did teach me, he did so through his example.  The Golden Rule was Dad's rule.  You always treat others the way you yourself would want to be treated.  It's not rocket science, but it's the best way to live life.  My personal interests and hobbies have also led me to work as an engineer in a local recording studio and to operate my own video production business for about five years.
Diane used to work as an administrative assistant at Dean Witter Reynolds where she kept the stock brokers from going insane.  She also worked in our family business for many years before our daughter Meredith came along.  With a baby, it wasn't hard for Diane to make the decision to stay at home and manage the household because our first priority has always been family.  At the present time, Diane home-schools Meredith at our office, so the three of us get to spend every day together.  We love it, but Meredith will admit that she sometimes gets bored after her work is done.  I try to keep her busy, but you can only empty the trash cans so many times during a day.
Speaking of Meredith, she is a typical teenager.  She loves 80's rock and roll, plays basketball, rides horses, and loves to eat pizza.  Ask her about her pets (2 cats, 1 dog, and a horse).
I am often asked about why I decided to become a chiropractor, and the answer is easy.  Regardless of the many, many benefits to me and my family, it is ultimately far more gratifying to help someone achieve better health than to give that person a good deal on a used TV.
